Homemade tripod head for DistoX

A tripod and a proper tripod head may improve the PMLS survey in many ways: speed up, better coverage from a central point (i.e. not from the wall), more reliable results. However the assemblage has to be free of magnetic pieces.

Balázs Holl, one of the projects contributors designed a tripod head, tested and used frequently in our surveys. Check the drawing and some photos below.
